X-Y, 3'00 excerpt (original 12'20), 2021

The work X-Y (2021) centres around a family of characters playing snooker. Influenced by the concept of social geometry and the musical genre Grime, the work reflects on the dynamics and rules of the game to consider the relational forces at play and the implicit rules of social interaction that shape behaviour. The short film was shot in a snooker hall in Birmingham and features local actors and non-actors, including the Grime musician Mayday.
